Sight Action has 10 support groups in the Highlands and funding is being sought to establish groups in the Western Isles.
The purpose of the groups is to provide a regular opportunity for socialising for adults who have problems with their sight as social isolation can be a very real problem.
Most of the groups meet on a monthly basis and provide a speaker or organise outings in the better weather. Most of the groups operate autonomously of Sight Action and rely on members to help sustain the meetings and suggest speakers etc.
If you are interested in finding out more about the group in your area, please contact the named person and he or she will get back to you.
